This song by Diana Ross is the perfect title for this blog because on the spiritual journey we ask these questions a lot!
In the next few blogs, we will explore these questions using The Seeker’s Journey oracle cards to illuminate our path and open new possibilities. We are going on The Soul Compass Journey – a seven-card reading that is illustrated below. You can also find it on page 16 in The Seeker’s Journey Guidebook.
As you can see, our first and last cards have been pulled for us. Card One in the middle of our compass is the Soul Compass card and Card Seven is the Law of One. The Soul Compass card provides a framework for our reading and the Law of One is our completion card.
Our soul compass is the mystical tool that starts to spin when we begin to awaken and feel drawn to the spiritual path. It nudges us to evolve and move forward to discover the truth of we are and wisdom and power of our soul. If you are reading this blog, there is no doubt that your soul compass is activated, spinning, and eager to explore all the possibilities waiting for you to create and manifest.
The mystical coordinates on our Soul Compass are:
Ego (east)
Fate (south)
Illumination
True Self (west)
Destiny (true north)
These coordinates are the energies on our spiritual path that may show up as gentle breezes or gale force winds, but they are constantly in motion moving us forward and backward on our inner journey.
Each coordinate on our soul compass asks us a question. I will pull one card for each coordinate that will help us gain a deeper understanding or answer the question. Reflect on the question and journal about any messages, inspiration, or guidance you receive. I will also offer my insights on the question.
It’s time to set an Intention and pull Card Two – our Ego!
Set an Intention
Our intention for this 7-card reading is …
“What do we all need to know on our inner journey for our highest good?”
You are also invited to set a personal intention or ask a question for this reading. If there is something you want to explore or would like guidance on write it down now and refer to it every time we pull a card.
Please do not ask questions that require a yes or no answer. To avoid this, start your question with What, Why or How. Always complete your question with “for my highest good”.
Examples:
· What needs to be cleared for me to move forward, for my highest good?
· How can I shift my energy around this situation, for my highest good?
· Why do I feel so stuck, for my highest good?
Our Soul Compass Journey reading is for everyone, but each of us will have different meanings, feelings, and experiences around each card. Trust that you will receive the guidance, inspiration, and direction that you need to hear.
Card Two in the Ego Position (East)
What is the ego?
We all have an ego. The ego is our ordinary state of consciousness in our 5 sensory world. The ego’s job is to survive and maintain its dominance.
The ego is often described as our small self, personal self, or lower self. It is the idea of the “I” that attaches itself to the many labels and beliefs that make up the identity of who we believe we are and how we relate to others. The ego includes our name, culture, race, and gender. It attaches to, and reinforces our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, emotions, and perceptions. It embraces our personality, self worth, abilities, and what we believe is or isn’t possible for us. It is programed by society, the culture we live in, and past karma. The ego is self centred by nature and at its core is pride and narcissism.
Our Soul Compass Question: What has been holding us back or causing us to lose power on our inner journey?
Card Two is… Wisdom
Answer: Can you find your Soul Compass on this card? It is active and working inside you! You are the person on this card. You are open, free, and trust the wisdom that is shining through you. The challenges and situations that have been holding you back or causing you to lose power are dissolving as the sun rises over the mountain (your ego) in the east. You are under the protection and guidance of a mystical owl that is opening your inner wisdom, intuition, and the gifts of your soul.
Inner wisdom is when we know, trust and act on the guidance of our soul. Our soul, not our ego, understands where we are coming from and what we need to do, say, or create to fulfill the highest potential in each moment and any situation.
Wisdom opens and illuminates a new path for us on our inner journey. It has been said that one drop of wisdom can last a lifetime.
